Works of local artists in new Guild exhibit
Thursday, 04 February 2010

A new exhibit at the Ridgefield Guild of Artists is an extended family affair. Sisters Constance and Kim Hanna, together with Ms. Hanna’s daughter, newcomer Lucy Hanna Whitehouse, are showing new works in an aptly titled exhibit, “Kindred Spirits.”

Mother and daughter live in Redding, while Constance Hanna has been living and working in Berlin, Germany for the past 20 years. Separated by oceans and continents, not to mention years in time and age, the work of these three artists is at times curiously similar — all three women work with differing degrees of abstraction in harmonious and intriguing compositions. The unique qualities of each artist shine through, however, in this well balanced mix of oil painting, and black and white and color photography.

The exhibit is in the Upstairs Gallery, Ridgefield Guild of Artists, 34 Halpin Lane, Ridgefield. Gallery hours are Wednesday-Sunday, noon to 4. The exhibit continues through Feb. 14
